I spent the first half of my life unknowingly building two completely different toolkits.
The first was forged over kitchen table board games and video game controllers—studying the systems, mechanics, and subtle friction that turn a simple choice into genuine tension. The second was built long past my bedtime, dissecting tv and movies to understand pacing, stakes, and the perfect, unpredictable reveal.
Then, I went to Hollywood.
Working professionally as an actor and writer on sets like Parks and Recreation and CSI, I discovered something that changed my entire approach to entertainment: playing a character and playing a game spring from the exact same instinct. There's a reason actors are traditionally called "players." The joys I found in acting moments are mirrored in the way players enjoy moments in a game. Both are chasing the same high: the moment a choice lands.
Then I discovered escape rooms. This new form of entertainment brought my toolkits together, fully for the first time.
I design immersive experiences the way a director builds a scene and a screenwriter paces a plot. To me, mechanics exist solely to make the narrative land. I don't just build rooms; I write parts for your players to step into.
This philosophy isn't just about atmosphere—it drives industry-defining innovation. My creation, The Summons, was named one of the 14 Innovative Escape Rooms by Room Escape Artist for pioneering large-scale, multi-team theatrical gameplay. Following that success, I brought a new kind of innovation to the industry with Escape Room Family, flipping the traditional escape room model on its head by introducing a no-lose, point-based system designed to engage and appeal to the entire family, winning a Golden Lock Award as well.
Whether consulting on game flow or engineering complex narrative arcs, I design for the instinct of the player. Let's build something unforgettable.
